Staycation - Harbor Cruise

We did a fun 1 hour Argosy cruise around Elliott Bay

Cameron looking through his newly purchased "pirate telescope" as he calls it

Cameron and Paris, they are both so photogenic!

Sofia was very tired and we were lucky to find a chair at the base of the stairs at the back of the boat - a perfect spot to still see the sights, hear the tour guide, but not be in the middle of all the people. She dozed off a couple times

Seeing sailboats, the Olympic mtn. range, and the Seattle skyline from the boat.

After we got off the boat we got ice cream cones and ate them by the water before hopping in the car and driving to the Museum of Flight.

Staycation - Flight Museum

We had a great visit at the Museum of Flight which is just south of Seattle.
Paris and Cameron checking out the jet

Looking at the models
The first Air Force One
Boarding the plane. It was very cool to see all of the 60's-70's decor, to see how far technologically we have come, and to imagine former Presidents once walking where we now stood.

Cameron holding Sofia's hand and telling her all about the British Airwarys Concorde that we just saw inside of. He told us that one day when he is a pilot he will fly us anywhere we want to go :) He does love airplanes and flying, could have been because he had been on 20 flights by the time he was one...

Cameron and Paris walking to the Flight Zone, a great little hands on place for children. They got to sit in real airplanes, helicopters and hang gliders and control them.

Future Astronaut? He sure thinks so!

After this we headed for home. We had a wonderful Staycation to Seattle!! It took us 3 1/2 hours instead of 2 1/2 to get home since we were in the middle of work traffic... but I swear there really should have not been any, many Washingtonians need to learn to merge and just drive.

Happy 4th of July

We had a wonderful 4th of July at home, here is Cameron by our flag, he loves to put it out and sometimes refers to it as the "beautiful American flag"Little Miss Sofia in her red, white, and blue Hula Mula outfit
She loves pockets these days and putting her hands in them or a toy cell phone
Cameron with our flag, wearing his red, white and blue - he picked everything out and was proud that he made it all match for the day!

Love it when they give each other hugs -

I loved this picture. Paris is helping Cameron register his latest Webkinz - Curious George the monkey and I happened to glance over to see them sitting in the exact same position. Like Father like Son :)

We had my parents, Emily, Mitch, and Siena over for the festivities. We played and BBQ'd before the fireworks. Here is Sofia and Siena playing with blocks and dolls, they are finally starting to really play together and get along and it is so much fun to watch.

Our Watermelon, blueberry, strawberry salad - I can't take credit for it, my mom made it.
A close-up, the strawberries reminded us of starfish

My dad ordered a Bonazi Rocket and we had to test it out at the Alki middle school track which had plenty of wide open space for it to blast off. It took about 140 pumps and some water to propel it. And propel it did! We had so much fun watching it launch off (I think my dad had the most fun). Check out the video clip at the bottom of the entry.

Paris, Mitch, and my Dad getting it all ready

Cameron brought his rocket to launch off as well, it actually went pretty high too.
Our family at the field

After the fun with the rocket and swinging and playing at the playground we headed home and started our fireworks and watched the rest of the neighborhood's. Siena didn't like the noise at all so she stayed inside, and Cameron almost made it out with some headphones on but then decided he didn't want to come out either, so he sat in the living room and opened the blinds and watched everything from indoors; it was pretty loud, I think much louder fireworks than last year. Sofia ventured out and actually liked them, they did get a bit loud at times and she would say "Go Out, Go Out" which actually meant go in, but she stuck it out and we watched everything until the mosquitos just wouldn't leave us alone - even with bug spray on. It still just amazes us that you are able to buy such huge fireworks here and it's all legal!
Here is Sofia and Grandpa.
We came inside to find Cameron sound asleep on the chair with all of the glow in the dark bracelets on his arm.

Here is the video clip of my dad launching his rocket for the first time.

Happy Birthday Cameron - July 1st

6 years ago at 5:20am in San Francisco at the California Pacific Medical Center, Cameron joined our family weighing in at 8lbs. 2oz. After being 9 days late I might add.... I can't believe it has really been that long. What a wonderful little boy he has grown to be. He is very sweet and tender-hearted and always tries to do what is right, he does have a stubborn side too, but I suppose that is actually a good thing. We love him so very much!
He enjoyed breakfast in his bed

Then moved into our bedroom to open his load of presents, with Callaway joining in

Checking out his lego's darth maul watch. He absolutely loves darth maul from Star Wars, and he is the most evil looking character. Cameron says he likes his double sided red light saber.

More star wars guys

Star wars legos

Oh boy, the prequel trilogy.
He is allowed to watch I and II but III is PG-13 so he has to wait a while.

Modeling his newest vintage star wars design t-shirt. He LOVES it!

The children at his birhtday party:
Keiji, Paige, Madeline, Cameron, Brittan, Seth.

We had a Star Wars themed birthday party. Here he is playing with the lightsabers I made out of swim noodles (the hit of the party) with Paige. It was fun to watch the kids get so into character with the lightsabers in hand - especially Cameron.

He wanted me to draw Yoda for his party, so this is my rendition...
Cameron playing Pin the ear on Yoda.

Sofia holding one of the prizes. She actually was really good during the party, she wanted to join in now and again, but mostly did a lot of observing. It was nice that my mom was here to watch her so we could focus on the party.

Paris getting Cameron ready to whack the Pinata

His Cake.

Blowing out the candles

After his birthday party he opened up some presents from Grandpa and Grandma.
He was excited to get a "2-wheeled scooter" as he calls it.

His own CD player

Paris putting together the lego Tie Fighter with Cameron watching

All Done!

We then headed to Chuck E Cheese for dinner.... birthday boy got to choose.
I had a feeling it would be there, since he had so much fun last year.

Cameron and Sofia playing some Skee Ball, my favorite .

Playing one of many video games with Daddy. We had 100 tokens so he was able to play anything his little heart desired, and Sofia too for that matter. We did have a great evening, and came home quite tired from the long non-stop day.
