We had a great time, and the weather was nice! The last 2 years we have gone is has been cold and rainy - typical for this time of year. So this was a wonderful first fieldtrip, and I am so glad I could be there to join in on the fun.

October 15th - 19th Our trip to Utah
We decided to take a trip to Provo, Utah. It was March when we were there last, so we searched for a deal on airfare and were off. We got lucky because the weather was absolutely perfect, in the high 60's and 70's every day (the days before we arrived, the highs were in the 40's...)
Paris went fishing with his Dad 3 days - which he was so happy to do!
Thursday and Friday they went to Scofield and caught their limit. Then Saturday they went to Deer Creek, up Provo canyon. This time my brother Nathan and his wife Shannon joined them, and I brought Cameron up at noon so he could experience his first time fishing on Grandpa's boat. They had a great time.

Cameron fishing on Grandpa Duane's boat at Deer creek.
He caught 2 fish, one of them being the biggest catch of the day but sadly it got all tangled in the line while they were trying to net it, so it wasn't a keeper. He had a Blast, a true fisherman, just like
Daddy and Grandpa.

Sofia and I on the dock after we just got Cameron all loaded on the boat. Now we are heading to the University Mall to do some shopping :)

The catch of the day!

Cameron holding one of the fish.

Poking it's eyeballs - such a boy.

Grandpa's garden still had rasberries left, they had fun picking and eating them.

Sofia had to pick them herself, to be big like everyone else. If I picked one to give to her she would not eat it, only the ones she picked herself, that's our little miss Sofia!
Sunday morning Cameron woke up with a tummy ache (and no he didn't eat too many rasberries ). Poor thing just layed down on the couch with no energy, Lexie curled right up on his legs to give him some comfort. He threw up about 10 times and then after about 3 hours he was finally able to eat and regained some energy. We were worried about flying home that evening, but he bounced back and was fine, thank goodness.

October 5th - Battleground Lake
After we watched General Conference we decided to take a Sunday drive to Battleground lake. It is a beautiful little lake only 20 minutes from our home. We will definitely plan some camping trips here next summer. They have some mini cabins you can rent, or you can use a tent. We can bring our boat for some fishing. Cameron can't wait until it warms up, neither can we.
Cameron and Sofia checking out the water, she wanted to jump right in. During the summer you can swim in the lake, however I don't know if I would, there are lots of fish in there. We saw a ton them jumping.
On the drive home we asked Cameron what he liked best and he said, he loved the ducks and how close he could stand by them. Here he is standing as still as he could watching them.
There is a path that goes all around the lake, it is green
and lush, with all of the ferns and mossy trees. We walked part of the way around, but it was a misty, rainy day so we didn't want to risk getting caught in the rain.
Sofia gathering rocks to throw in the water. She is going to be just like Cameron, who also loves throwing rocks in the water.

Soda for the garbageman
Cameron loves to give sodas to the garbagemen.
It all started a year or so ago when it was a hot day and we happened to be outside when they came by to get our trash. Cameron asked if we could give them a drink, because they must be hot. From then on, whenever we hear them and are out, he likes to go to the edge of the driveway and hand them a couple sodas.
Today it was Dr. Pepper for them. The garbageman was so happy and said "are these for me", Cameron beamed and handed them to him then ran up the driveway to the porch and watched as they drove away, honking their horn in thanks. Cameron's face was all lit up with joy and happiness!

Cameron swimming
swimming lessons for just
over a year. He loves it!
I think back to his first lesson which was spent in the locker room, crying and not wanting to go out. He has a little stubborn streak in him and I could not threaten or bribe enough to get him to leave the bench. His teacher had to come in and still he would not budge. The next few lessons I spent sitting on the side of pool, just so he would get in. Well that was then and this is now - a total change!
He loves his teacher - Miss Georgina, as do we!
She is the perfect mix of a loving grandma, and someone who can push him hard enough to get great results. She really works on his form, and doing things correct, which we appreciate. He looks forward to going each week and wishes he could go everyday. We are so proud of what a good swimmer he has become and how great we know he can be with all of his hard work. It was fun to see him watch Michael Phelps on the Olympics, he said "I can swim like that one day" and we told him, sure you can if you keep practicing. It is fun to hear/see Cameron's faith, hopes and dreams.
He loves going off the diving board!

When you ask her how old she is, she sticks her little finger right up and says "one".

Fun in the Tub
Sofia just adores Cameron and loves to splash with him in the tub, she thinks it is the funniest thing when they fill containers with water and dump them out. They were having too much fun today. I had to close the door and keep sshh-ing them so the squealing would not wake up Daddy while he was 'trying' to sleep, since he worked last night.
