We decided to head to the beach - Cameron was dying to build a sandcastle! The weather report was partly sunny, partly cloudy, which is very common for the Oregon/Washington Coast, so we thought nothing of it. An hour and 45 minutes later we pulled into Cannon beach to lightning, thunder, fog and rain! We had lunch hoping it would just pass over....not! We couldn't find a close parking spot at Cannon beach, so we headed a few miles north to Gearhart, where you can drive your car right onto the beach, we figured that would be a great idea, so we wouldn't have to haul the load and get caught in the rain doing it. It was rather chilly, with the fog, and wind blowing, and showers that kept passing through. But Cameron got to build his sandcastle, Sofia loved digging in the sand as well. We always bring Cameron's Superman cape to all the beaches (we even brought it to Florida) so he can run on the sand with his cape blowing in the wind! I think we need to go back again, when it is not so cold....

That's nice that you have a beach so close. We took our kids to San Diego a couple years ago, and they loved the beach! I would like to take them back soon.
